Manchester city have completed the signing of Portuguese defender, Joao Cancelo though an exchange deal with Danilo worth £60million

Manchester city have completed the signing of Portuguese defender, Joao Cancelo,25 , from Juventus in a six year contract worth £60 million.

Juventus was paid £26 million plus Danilo who is worth £34 million as an exchange deal. The Brazilian defender will now play for Juventus this season.

The deal was completed on Wednesday night and during an interview with Cancelo he said " city are a fantastic club with a brilliant manager and l am delighted to be here,everything about them has impressed me, from the facilities, to their style of play.

 " I am always looking to develop my game and win trophies and I believe I can do that here, so now I'm really looking forward to the next season to begin so I could test myself in premier league.

Manchester city's Director of football, Txiki Begiristain said " Joao is a fine player and an excellent attacking full-back who will provide us with a real threat on the right hand side. We have been impressed with his progress and have no doubt he can continue to shine in Manchester.

 He went on to say that there were delighted to have secured the defender and how he will be a big benefit to the club
