The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has confirmed they are ready to question two former governors, who are not serving lawmakers in Nigeria.
The two governors both APC party's members, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso former governor of Kano and Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko former governor of Sokoto were accused of financial misdemeanor while they were governors.
Spokesperson for the EFCC, Wilson Uwajaren said " The commission would be questioning ex governor Rabiu of Kano state on petitions alleging diversion of local government funds amounting to N3.08bn."
"On the other hand, ex governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto state would be questioned on allegations of theft of public funds and money laundering totaling N15bn.
The petition received by EFCC against ex governor Rabiu was from one Mustapha Danjuma and co. on behalf of Abubakar Maiasha'ani and Alhaji Najumai Kobo alleging that N70m contribution from the 44 local government council of Kano (summing N3.08bn) was given to him for his presidential primaries in 2015.
